This second entry in the “Mr. Wong” stars Boris Karloff as James Lee Wong. Brendan Edwards receives a package from a passing ship, which turns out to be the stolen, priceless Imperial Chinese jewel known as the “Eye of the Daughter of the Moon”. There is a curse attached to it, a sentence of death cast by Emperor Hong Chong Shu, who, jealous of his wife, placed the gem in her heart when he buried her. Edwards is overwhelmed by jealously of his own wife, Valerie, suspecting her lover to be under his very roof. At a party game staged by his wife, Edwards is given the role of her lover and the man who is her lover plays Edwards. Edwards is shot by her husband. As if the cruel irony of the enactment weren’t enough, when the play is over, Edwards doesn’t get up. Wong exams the body and announces, “I’m afraid there has been an unfortunate accident, your host is dead.” Wong and his colleague, Prof. Ed Janney, investigate and Wong reaches a startling conclusion about his colleague.
